How an exchange runs.
From the context field to the opened record, with the numbers that apply.
- Context.
Up to 500 characters in Markdown, written by the person who opens the exchange. It is the only thing a participant sees before writing.
- Count.
How many takes must land before anything is shown, from 2 up to 1,000. Two is the default and the usual answer. The person who opened the exchange can change the context and the count until it is full.
- Invitation.
A 62-character code, presented as a link and as a QR code. Opening it shows the context only. The same browser keeps one private code and reuses it in every exchange it joins.
- Simple take.
Two texts: facts and perceptions, up to 2,000 characters each, both required.
- Structured take.
Up to fifty pairs, each a fact and the perception it left.
- Sealing.
Below the count, the server removes every other take from what it sends you, whether you read the exchange or submit to it. This is a server rule, not a client one.
- Editing.
Allowed until the reveal, with an optional note of up to 500 characters that is shown with the take afterwards.
- Reveal.
At the count every take is returned to every participant as a grid of cards: signed-in people by username, link participants by the last six characters of their code, each with its dates and its note.
- Afterwards.
The exchange never expires and stays readable to its participants. It can be downloaded as a JSON file from the app. The person who opened it can delete it only while nobody else has taken part.
